What's inside
ResoChamber Logo ResoChamberTM
irregular triangular cavities for sound to bounce around inside the panel, as a result absorption is enhanced.
IsoCavity TM Compatible Add-on
Modular Air-Gap (NOT INCLUDED, purchased separately) attachment compatible to increase lower end absorption by creating a cavity behind the panel.
ModuBASS TM
Modular Bass Trap system let you add (more than one if needed) and subtract bass traps when you need.
Custom high density polyester panel is 2.2kg/sqm, much higher than 1.3-1.5kg/sqm regular acoustic polyester panels for better lower end absorption as well as visual texture.

Color and texture

Our felt is a blend of colored polyester fibers, so small variations in color and texture between panels and production batches are normal.

PERFORMANCE

Wave Acoustic Panel Set – Silver Nimbus (3 Panels)

Our panels don’t just look great. They deliver real acoustic results, and this chart reflects how sound behaves with our material in play.

Select a configuration to compare absorption.

Values above α 1.00 are a normal result of reverberation-room testing: sound diffracts around the panel’s exposed edges, so the panel absorbs more energy than its face area alone accounts for.

Why a producer chose Massform

🎵 “Most of the studios I’ve built were acoustically incredible, but felt like a dungeon. I wanted something that sounds amazing and actually makes me want to create.”
Rowan Garmon, producer and musician

How it compares

How much sound Wave absorbs, beside 25 mm acoustic foam and a 2-inch fibre-board panel.

  • Wave, without Basstrap 0.95 lab-tested
  • Wave, with Basstrap 1.15 lab-tested
  • Two common panels
  • Acoustic foam, 25 mm 0.50 maker’s lab test
  • Fibre-board acoustic panel, 50 mm 1.00 maker’s lab test
How we know
Lab-tested at National Taiwan Ocean University (NTOU · ASTM C423-22): 50 mm panels raised 35 mm off the surface; with Basstrap, each panel on a 50 mm Basstrap, 100 mm in all. Wave and Surge Pro are one acoustic design.
The shape
Spaced on a wall, the panels scatter low-mid sound.
The common panels
One common product of each type, from its maker’s published laboratory test, brand not named; not measured by Massform. Both laid flat with no air gap: the 25 mm wedge foam at Riverbank Acoustical Laboratories (ASTM C423, 1993), the 2-inch fabric-wrapped fibre panel, 56 mm as tested, at the University of Salford (ISO 354, 2014). That test states no NRC, so Massform worked it out from the report’s bands.

NRC: how much sound a surface absorbs, averaged across the range of the voice; higher absorbs more. Solid bars are lab-tested or measured, striped bars calculated or estimated.

Installation guide

Each panel hangs from the hook on its top rail: on the three screws and drywall anchors that come with the set, or from a picture rail. The guide shows both, step by step, in millimetres and inches.
