What's inside
Angled surface geometry that introduces directional bias, helping break symmetry and shape reflections within the space.
IsoCavity TM
Optional modular air-gap attachment, sold separately, designed to create a cavity behind the panel to enhance low-frequency absorption.
ModuBASS TM
A modular bass trap system that lets you add or remove low-frequency absorption as your space evolves.
High-density polyester core at 2.2 kg/sqm, significantly denser than standard acoustic panels, improving low-end absorption and visual texture.

Color and texture

Our felt is a blend of colored polyester fibers, so small variations in color and texture between panels and production batches are normal.

How much sound it absorbs

PERFORMANCE

Cymbals Pro 2'x2' Acoustic Panel – Sculpted Rhythm Surface

Our panels don’t just look great. They deliver real acoustic results, and this chart reflects how sound behaves with our material in play.

Select a configuration to compare absorption.

Values above α 1.00 are a normal result of reverberation-room testing: sound diffracts around the panel’s exposed edges, so the panel absorbs more energy than its face area alone accounts for.

How it works

Why the Numbers Go Off the Charts?!

Believe us, we are suprised too! Starting from 200Hz, the Cymbals Series shows shockingly high absorption—especially at higher frequencies, where some values approach NRC 2. This isn’t a fluke. The angled elements and deep air gaps create complex wave behavior: mid frequencies get trapped in the angled cavities, while higher frequencies diffract and scatter at the panel’s edges. The result is more than just absorption—it’s controlled chaos that kills echoes in style.

This panel is ready for deeper bass control. Just snap on our modular basstrap kit whenever your space needs it — no replacements, no hassle.

Why a producer chose Massform

🎵 “Most of the studios I’ve built were acoustically incredible, but felt like a dungeon. I wanted something that sounds amazing and actually makes me want to create.”
Rowan Garmon, producer and musician

Modular Air-Gap Compatible

This panel ships studio-ready. When you want even tighter lows, simply snap on our 1.3" (35 mm) Modular Air-Gap Kit to tame stubborn bass — no need to replace the panel you already love.

How it compares

  • Acoustic foam, 50 mm 0.70 maker’s lab test

How we know
Measured in Massform’s office with REW, calibrated against Surge Pro’s lab result (Massform office REW measurement). With Basstrap: calculated by adding the difference the lab measured for Basstrap, not measured.
The shape
Cymbals’ angled elements scatter the low mids, around 300 Hz.
The boards
One common product of each type, bare, from its maker’s published laboratory test, brand not named; not measured by Massform. Tested flat, with no air gap (the mineral wool sheet does not state its mounting).

NRC: how much sound a surface absorbs, averaged across the range of the voice; higher absorbs more. Solid bars are lab-tested or measured, striped bars calculated or estimated.
